KNOW BEFORE YOU GO

 

TRAVEL DOCUMENTS ***IMPORTANT****

A passport is required to travel to Mexico and return to the United States. The legal name on your passport must match the name on your airline ticket. Your passport must be valid for at least three months after your date of return to the United States. Also, before you go, fill in the emergency information page of your passport! Leave copies of your itinerary and passport data page with family or friends at home so that you can be contacted in case of an emergency. Make copies of all of your documentation and carry it with you in a separate place in your luggage in the event of theft or loss.

TRIP INCLUSIONS / PERSONAL EXPENSES

The hotel will maintain a separate account for personal expenses that are not included in the program. This account must be cleared before your departure. You will be asked to present a credit card to cover your incidental charges upon check-in .

 

TIPPING

All gratuities at the hotel and in connection with the planned activities are included. Gratuities for personal services should be provided at the time the service is rendered - 15% is customary.

 

BAGGAGE

Checked luggage allowance varies by airline. Most carriers allow at least one checked bag and one carry-on per person. Golf clubs are considered a checked bag. Be sure to check with your carrier or V2 Incentives before you travel.

 

ELECTRICITY

Mexico runs on the 120V, 60Hz system, so U.S. travelers will not need electrical converters. Additionally, in hotels with 110-volt outlets for low-wattage appliances like shavers, be careful not to use them with higher-wattage appliances like blow-dryers.

 

CUSTOMS

U.S. Citizens returning from Mexico are allowed to bring back $800 worth of items for personal use without paying duty. Articles valued in excess of $800 will be assessed the applicable duty rate on the next $1000 in value. Liquor is limited to one liter (you must be 21 years of age) and tobacco is limited to 200 cigarettes and 100 cigars (no Cuban brands). Be sure to save all your receipts for customs declaration when you arrive back in the U.S.
